Mobile AMA releases next generation barcode scanning for fastest 1D & 2D barcode recognition

College Park, MD, February 20th, 2007 – MobileAMA, an Applied Media Analysis company, announces the launch of its next generation Mobile Barcode Reader software for mobile devices. MobileAMA’s new software allows the camera phone to scan 1D and 2D barcodes with functionality and at speeds that approximate a laser scanner.

Before the introduction of Mobile Barcode Reader people had to carry around an expensive laser scanner to read barcodes but now they can use the camera phone in their pocket to collect and manage their information. Mobile Barcode Reader makes it possible to scan 1D and 2D barcodes much like a laser scanner in that the user simply waves the device over the barcode and it beeps. This breakthrough technology reads a barcode twenty times faster than other camera phone software solutions.

“Having your camera phone read 1D UPC barcodes like a laser scanner is awesome technology,” said David Doermann, MobileAMA’s President, “This ‘no-touch’ system is an innovation that is perfect for people and companies that want to read barcodes with a device they already carry in their pocket.”

Mobile AMA’s patent pending Mobile Barcode Reader technology is a powerful tool that requires no new infrastructure since it uses popular mobile devices and existing barcodes seen on all products and packages. Visit the Mobile AMA website to see a video of this new technology.
